We will explore the evolution of and the future for the role of Chief Restructuring Officers (CRO). Widely used in the northern hemisphere, with a variety of different titles CROs are increasingly being sought by stakeholders in Australia for c-suite roles. But the market has yet to take off truly take-off. Speakers will draw on their varied real world experience to identify who makes a good CRO, operational v financial demands, influencing others in distressed situations and the future of the role in tougher market conditions.

Adrian co-founded Allegro in 2004 and has over 25 years’ experience in turnaround private equity, investment, and providing restructuring and profit improvement advice in Australia and SE Asia.  He has held roles as Chairman, Director and CEO of ASX – listed companies and unlisted companies.  Also:

Bernard O’Brien
(former CEO Of Norco, Paradise Foods, L&D Earthmoving, and Chairman of O’Reilly’s)

Bernard commenced his professional career overseas for 5 years, in the United Kingdom with Associated British Foods and Simons Engineering before concluding with studied in his final year in Switzerland. On returning to Australia, Bernard joined the Family Business in operational, sales and Senior Executive Roles, before departing the Family Business and expanding his experience across other Industries in food, agriculture, retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing, consulting, construction and tourism. His past 15 years across those industries has been focused on business restructure and/or business turnaround and/or business remodelling, and more recently focused on the principles of Verne Harnish’s “Scaling up”.
