Chris Giddens

Partner, KPMG

Chris is a Partner in KPMG’s Deal Advisory team in Brisbane. Chris joined the Australian practice 2010, having previously worked with KPMG overseas. Chris is a registered liquidator with more than 20 years of global advisory experience and has been involved on engagements in a range of jurisdictions including Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Asia.

Key experience includes:

• assisting companies to assess their financial position, developing turnaround plans, presentation of the plans to key stakeholders and ultimately assisting with the implementation of the plan
• undertaking business reviews for major banks in Australia including reviews of management structures, trading results, forecast financial performance and identification of key risks
• formal insolvency appointments in a range of sectors including mining, oil & gas, property, retail and agriculture
• advisory work to both corporate and government clients facing exposure to distressed customers and suppliers.

Brett McAuliffe

Director, KPMG

Brett is a Director in KPMG’s Deal Advisory team in Brisbane with over 25 years’ real estate valuation experience. He is a registered valuer and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute with Certified Practising Valuer designation.

Brett has lectured for many years at both the Queensland University of Technology and Bond University in valuations, property development and feasibility analysis.  He is a past Board Member on the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland and a past State President and National Councillor of the Australian Property Institute.

Brett’s experience includes reviewing, valuing, managing, leasing and undertaking transactions of various property assets. His roles have also required him to develop strategies to manage clients’ real estate assets and to assist them to make long term property decisions for their portfolios.

Brett has also acted as expert valuer in mediations and rental disputes and provided valuation reports on office, industrial, residential and development properties for litigation purposes.
