Hear from the first restructuring practitioner to implement the new small business restructuring plan (SBRP), Adam Preiner (Integra) who, together with his legal counsel Michael Lhuede (Piper Alderman), will discuss DST Project Management & Construction Pty Ltd from initial appointment to the effectuated restructuring plan.

Moderated by Alison Carroll (Macquarie Group), the speakers will share insights in to how the company came to require a small business restructuring plan, the challenges & legal issues that arose in effecting the plan – with consideration to such subjects as excluded creditors, dealing with the ATO in a restructuring appointment, what constitutes reasonable inquiries & insurance implications in restructuring plan appointments.

During the webinar you’ll hear what was achieved via the SBRP, potential issues that might arise, and the value of using SBRP as a tool to assist businesses

Adam Preiner
Managing Director, Integra Restructuring & Insolvency

Adam is an ASIC Registered Liquidator and a Chartered Accountant with over 14 years’ experience in the insolvency industry. He is the founder and Managing Director of Integra Restructuring & Insolvency. During his career he has worked in both Sydney and Melbourne on a number of corporate and personal appointments, these have included trade-on appointments and liquidations with complex legal matters.  Adam was the first Small Business Restructuring Practitioner appointee in Australia. He was appointed after one of the directors of DST Project Management and Construction Pty Ltd found information about the restructuring process and completed an eligibility questionnaire on Adam’s firm’s website smallbusinessrp.com.au.

Michael Lhuede
Partner, Piper Alderman

Michael is a partner with Piper Alderman and specialises in corporate and personal insolvency law. Michael was National Chair of the Law Council’s Insolvency and Reconstruction Committee from 2014 to 2015 and prior to that chair of the Victorian Committee from 2011. As a long standing member of that committee he has actively participated in the reform of the insolvency law and particularly bankruptcy law.  Since 2009, Michael has been selected by his industry peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers list for Australia in the specialty of Insolvency & Reorganisation and is rated as a leading Insolvency lawyer in Doyles Guide to Insolvency & Reconstruction Lawyers.

Alison Carroll
National Restructuring Manager. Macquarie Group

Alison is an Admitted solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW. She started her career in working capital lending and recovery work before moving to the restructuring team at PwC to consult on working capital optimisation for distressed clients. She led a transformation team focusing on large scale operational process improvements for an ASX listed company on a 12 month engagement before moving to Macquarie Bank in 2017. After two years in the Risk Management Group focusing on originations and deal structure, she has moved back to her specialisation of distressed clients and now heads the Restructuring portfolio for the Asset Solutions team in Business Banking.
