Each week TMA Australia hosts a webinar, with TMA members and guests from the broader business community, on what they’re seeing in the market.

This Wednesday, our speakers will provide a financing perspective covering; local and international markets, approaches by borrowers and lenders, alternative debt sources, as well as the positive and negative effects of the COVID-19 crisis on financing.

Zina Edwards
Partner, Hamilton Locke

Zina is a founding partner of law firm Hamilton Locke. She is a finance and restructuring lawyer focused on the non-bank lender market. She advises numerous funds, asset managers and other non-bank participants in relation to investments in complex structured finance and hybrid transactions, secondary trades, restructuring and special situations. Zina has also worked on a large number of distressed and performing portfolio sale transactions in Australia and across Asia acting for both purchasers and sellers.

Stewart McCallum
Partner, Ernst & Young

Stewart’s experience spans corporate restructuring and turnaround, insolvency and forensic accounting.  Stewart is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Turnaround Analyst, Registered Liquidator and Certified Fraud Examiner.  He is Chair of the TMA Victorian Committee and a TMA Australia Director.  Stewart has extensive experience in Agribusiness, Retail, Hospitality and Financial Services, and has undertaken engagements in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, South America and Asia.

 

Paul Shew
Head of Debt Advisory and Restructuring, Rothschild & Co.

Paul heads the Debt Advisory and Restructuring team at Rothschild & Co in Australia. The team provides advice to corporates, banks, hedge funds, sponsors and other stakeholders on all aspects of financial structuring and restructuring, including stressed refinancings, distressed M&A, consensual and non-consensual restructurings. The team’s recent restructuring assignments include advising an energy company on negotiations with its lenders, advising the bondholders of Mirabela Nickel, advising the acquirer of one of the Lloyds loan portfolios, advising BrisConnections, advising par lenders to Nine Entertainment and advising the senior lenders to Alinta.

David Tozer
Founder & Managing Director, Tozer & Co.

David is the Managing Director of Tozer and Co. a family office with multiple interests across private and public investments as well as an exclusive sourcing and co-investment relationship with The Carlyle Group covering special situations. We seek to deploy capital with an entirely flexible mandate across capital structure, sectors and situations. Prior to establishing Tozer and Co., David was one of the founding partners (and primary bank licensee) of Houlihan Lokey (Australia). He led the restructuring, distressed debt and special situations efforts in Australia covering complex transaction advice, trading, capital raising and transformations. more
