The TMA NextGen Brisbane Committee is excited to invite you to hear from Rob Kopel from PwC who specialises in artificial intelligence and digital products and Ben Hamilton of Hall & Wilcox who specialises in intellectual property and technology laws. Both presenters will explore and discuss the impacts of AI on the way we work and live.
Rob will provide us with a rundown of what kinds of benefits we can see come from the development of AI including the broad range of capabilities of the technology. Ben will consider the potential for platforms such as ChatGPT to spread misinformation and how these AI platforms interact with intellectual property laws.
Ben Hamilton
Partner & Technology and Digital Economy Co-Lead, Hall & Wilcox
Ben specialises in intellectual property (IP) and technology law at Hall &Wilcox. His practice covers technology contracts and contentious IP matters including trade mark matters, intellectual property commercialisation and licensing, copyright advice, disputes and licensing and competition and consumer law. Ben has an interest and expert knowledge in the operation of artificial intelligence and its relationship to IP, in particular copyright. Ben has been recognised in Best Lawyers for IP every year since 2016.
Robert Kopel
Director, Digital Solutions, PwC
Rob Kopel is a Director at PwC, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and digital products. He has spent nearly the last decade submersed in AI, developing, deploying and leading the creation of new AI solutions, across companies in insurance, tech and professional services. He currently holds a strong focus on helping organisations build confidence in their own use of AI and on machine learning interpretability research, aimed at enabling aligned, responsible and ethical AI.
